This postpartum power-up is a wonderful gift for any mum-to-be.

The perfect gift for new mums, ideal for baby showers.
Promoting post-partum recovery, mother roasting is said to address the depletion post-birth which Chinese medicine believes can be a factor in low milk supply, post-partum depression, prolapse, fatigue, insomnia and anxiety.
This deeply nourishing treatment is relaxing, quick and easy to do at home to energise a new mum and aid her recovery. A moxa stick is used to warm the abdomen and the lower back (if a support person is available to help with that area) for five to ten minutes to tonify the qi in that area post birth. Helping the uterus to contract and replenishing blood and Qi, it’s a post partum power up!
The A6 gift box contains a set of postcards detailing the history of mother roasting, full instructions for use, guidance on when mother roasting is contraindicated, a recipe for Junie's Chicken Broth (a traditional blood building soup) and a moxa stick.
Mother roasting is a tradition found in many cultures across the world, differing rituals that celebrate and nourish the energy of the mother post-birth. Closing the gateways that have been opened and repelling wind and cold from the uterus, mother roasting using moxibustion is a one-off treatment.
This treatment should be done around four or five days after birth.
CAUTION: Mother warming is NOT APPROPRIATE if there is evidence of any fever, inflamed caesarean scars, or night sweats, so please do not proceed with this treatment if this is the case.
Lit moxa sticks must never be used to directly touch skin and The London Acupuncturist accepts no liability for injuries caused by incorrect use. Full, clear instructions for use are given and further support is offered via The London Acupuncturist's Facebook page, instagram feed, website or email.
